How to Enter & Eligibility
1) Community involvement essay
A short essay of 300 words or fewer outlining your community involvement and how it has impacted your current or future education or career goals.
2) Healthy financial habits submission
Applicants must submit either an essay or a video explaining why budgeting and healthy financial habits are important and how you display them in your everyday life.
Essay submission: Submit a 750-1,300-word essay about the topic above. The essay must be submitted in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format.
Video submission: Submit a 1-3 minute video on the topic above. Upload your video to YouTube as public or unlisted and share the link in the application form.
3) Complete the application form
Attach your community involvement essay and healthy financial habits submission to the form below to enter.
To apply for the Mainstreet Student Scholarship, applicants must follow these steps.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be 17 to 23 years old at the time of the application.
Applicants must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for September 2026 at the time of the application.
The applicant must be a Mainstreet member and a resident of Ontario.
Terms and conditions 2026 Student Scholarship Terms & Conditions: Applicants must be seventeen (17) to twenty-three (23) years old at the time of the application. Applicants must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for September 2026 at the time of the application. The applicant must be a Mainstreet member and a resident of Ontario. A $1,000 award will be deposited directly into the winner’s post-secondary institution account. Mainstreet Credit Union will have the right to use submitted videos or essays on its social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn & Instagram) and its website (www.mainstreetcu.ca). Mainstreet Credit Union staff and their immediate family are not eligible. Mainstreet Credit Union reserves the right, at any time, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility of the applicant. Failure to provide proof may result in disqualification. Applications will not be accepted after August 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST.
